Born 1983 in Nagoya/Japan.
Youki Hirakawa studied visual media (cinema, and installation) as well as media and design at the Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences.
He participated in several single and group exhibitions, such as the Slight Signs of Something at the gallery STANDING PINE – cube in Nagoya, the Aichi Triennale 2010 at the Aichi Arts Center in Nagoya, and the 12th Japan Media Art Festival 2008 in Tokyo/Japan. Youki Hirakawa received the CINESONIKA award in the category Best Sonic Cinema and a recommendation of the jury at the 12th Media Art Festival in Tokyo.
He is currently working as a research associate at the University of Arts and Sciences in Nagoya.
