Born 1980 in Xi’an/China.
From 1998 to 2003 Wannan Tang studied medicine in China and afterwards she studied neurobiology at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg/Germany. In 2009 she completed her master thesis about new biologicals tools for genetic manipulation of the mouse brain at the Max-Planck-Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg. Currently she is doing her Post-doc at the Molecular Neurobiology department, Max-Planck-Institute for Medical Research Heidelberg.
Since 2008 – inspired from her lab work – she follows the idea to present the morphology of neurons and brain structures on canvas as an art form.
From 2005 to 2008 she received a scholarship from the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and from 2003 to 2004 a scholarship from the Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) program of the University of Heidelberg.
