Born 1978 in Ulyanovsk/Russia.

Vladimir Miller studied communication design and illustration at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim/Germany. He works in Berlin/Germany, Brussels/Belgium and Vienna/Austria as dramaturge, scenographer and installation and video artist.

His main interest is the relationship between the spatial and the political. His current research focuses on the question »How do our politics and ideologies of togetherness and collaboration manifest themselves in our spaces of (artistic) practice?«
He is associate program curator at the postgraduate  course of artistic research in performance and scenography at a.pass in Brussels. His teaching and research are concentrated on curated workspaces, and on investigating art and knowledge production as spatial practices.

Besides his research activity he worked several times with the choreographers Philipp Gehmacher and Meg Stuart. The  performances, video installations und scenographics were shown at diverse European and South American dance and performance festivals such as Festival d’Automne, Festival d’Avignon, Kunstenfestivaldesarts and steirischer herbst amongst others. Some of their works are touring, like the installations dead reckoning (2009) and at arm’s length (2012) with Philipp Gehmacher and the performance the fault lines (2010) with Meg Stuart. Vladimir Miller also worked on a number of scenographic installations and spaces such as the in their name (2010) and solo with jack (2012) with Philipp Gehmacher and sketches/notebook (2013) with Meg Stuart.

Vladimir Miller is currently guest lecturer in scenography at the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg/Germany and scholarship holder at the Institut für Raumexperimente in Berlin.
