Ursula Achternkamp
Born 1975 in Rheine/Germany.
Ursula Achterkamp studied fine arts at Kunstakademie Münster, Münster/Germany, and at École supérieure des beaux-arts de Genève (ESBA), Geneva/Switzerland. From 2008 to 2010, she worked as a freelance scientific officer at Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau. She participated in numerous exhibitions and projects, among others: Internationale Bauausstellung Stadtumbau Sachsen-Anhalt (2010); ArchiLab Europe 2008 – Architecture Stratégique (in cooperation with Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau), Orléans/France; UN-Urbanism – Bauhaus Kolleg VII (2006/2007), and the group exhibition L’esprit des lois, Ateliers Mort et vif, Brussels/Belgium (2010); six feet under glassbox sans murs, Fondation Avicienne, Paris/France (2009).
Ursula Achternkamp received several awards, including Prix 2006 de la Fondation Gertrude Hirzel, Prix Adolphe Neumann de la Ville de Genève (2004), and a grant of Kunstakademie Münster (2001).
