Thomas Crowley is a researcher and writer currently based in New Delhi/India. He completed his bachelor’s degree in philosophy at Yale University, New Haven, CT/USA in 2007, after which he came to Pune/India on a Fulbright Scholarship. His Fulbright research explored the intersection of philosophy, religion, ecology and politics in the West Indian state of Maharashtra.
Since 2011, he has been working for the Delhi-based organization Intercultural Resources, where he has conducted an extensive research project on the political ecology of a protected forest zone within Delhi. Further, he is a columnist for the Kolkata-based magazine Kindle India and has written for a variety of Indian and American publications, including Kafila and Jacobin.
During his time in Delhi, he has been awarded two »City as Studio« fellowships from the Sarai Programme at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS). As part of these fellowships, he has extended his social science research into interdisciplinary realms, including role-playing games, illustrated articles and performance art pieces.
