Thiago Granato

Born 1979 in Santos/Brazil.

Thiago Granato lives in between Brazil, France and Germany.
He has been developing a large experience as performer and creator among different roles in the field of contemporary dance. His own work as a choreographer has been presented in different countries like Brazil, Israel, Spain, Austria, Germany and Sweden. Among them are PLANO B (2008), WE ARE NOT SUPERFICIAL, WE LOVE PENETRATION (2008), TOMBO (2009), BASEMENT (2011) and THIS IS CONCRETE (2012).

From 2000 to 2013 he developed numerous works in collaboration with dance artists such as Simone Mello, Adriana Grechi, Lia Rodrigues, João Saldanha, Cristina Moura, Neto Machado, Cristian Duarte, Thelma Bonavita, Mathilde Monnier, Sandro Amaral, Lenio Kaklea, Jefta van Dinther and Frederic Gies.
He took part in the education project Ex.e.r.ce 8, coordinated by Xavier Le Roy, at the Centre Chorégraphique National Montpellier (France), directed by Mathilde Monnier. 

Thiago Granato also worked as a dance teacher at the Estúdio Nova Dança (São Paulo), as well as for the contemporary dance companies of Dani Lima (Rio de Janeiro), Déborah Colker (Rio de Janeiro), João Saldanha (Rio de Janeiro) and Gustavo Ciríaco (Rio de Janeiro).

During his residency at Akademie Schloss Solitude he is researching and developing new choreographies. Furthermore, he is one of the choreographers invited to participate in the project Lote#2 in São Paulo (Brazil).
