Tamara Zsófia Vadas is a dancer, performer, and choreographer with a deep commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and collective creative processes, based in Budapest/Hungary.

Her educational background spans from the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy to The Danish National School of Performing Arts, giving her a rich foundation in contemporary dance and performance  principles and practice.

Vadas’ artistic philosophy, focusing on dance as a medium for creating connections rather than mere sequences of movement. Her approach integrates dance, visual arts, theater, and music, reflecting her commitment to breaking boundaries and fostering interdisciplinary exploration. Central to her practice is the act of initiating interactions and working within »performative situations«, where various artistic forms meet and reshape each other. Her work is characterized by a non-hierarchical, collaborative framework, often engaging individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds to enrich the collective creative experience. She operates without a formalized company, preferring instead to function through »horizontal relations« and spontaneous, organically developed collectives.

For Vadas, teaching, creating, and performing dance are inseparable elements of her artistic journey. With an emphasis on »stepping into the field of not knowing«, she views dance as a constantly evolving art form that thrives through shared experiences and collective effort.  Vadas’ area of interest lies in the space of unknowing, situated in the gap between the spectator and the performer.
