Sarnath Banerjee

Born 1972 in West Bengal/India.

Master of Arts in media and communication studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London/Great Britain. Works as a writer and filmmaker.

Selected projects: God’s left hand (film trilogy, 1999), Hakim Tartoosi’s potency oil (clay-animation, awarded a prize at the 1001 Digital Film festival, New Delhi, 2004), Corridor: A Graphic Novel (author and illustrator, Penguin Books, 2004), The Barn Owl’s Wondrous Capers (Penguin, 2007).

Fellowship from the American MacArthur Foundation (1999-2000), fellowship from the Indian Foundation for the Arts (Bangalore, 2001-2002), Égide-grant for Writer in Residence (Paris/France, 2004).
