Born in Meran/southern Tyrol, 1963.
She studied German linguistics, history and political sciences in Innsbruck and Vienna. From 1988 to 1992, she was a University lectorer for German in Venice.
In 1994, she lived as a writer-in-residence in Klagenfurt. She has published poetry, prose, radio plays and novels, including “Aushäusige” (novel, Wieser Verlag, 1996), “Fang oder Schweigen” (poetry, Wieser Verlag, 2002) and “Die Zumutung” (novel, C.H. Beck, 2003).
Numerous texts have been published in magazines and anthologies.
The awards she received include the grant by the Arno Schmidt Foundation in 1994 and the Austrian State grant for Literature (1995).Rome grant in 1998.
