Pierluigi Billone

Born 1960 in Sondalo, Italy. Studied composition at the Conservatory in Milan (with Salvatore Sciarrino) and at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart (with Helmut Lachenmann). Composer and teacher, has also participated in numerous concerts as guitar player.

Winner of the Composition Award of the city of Stuttgart in 1992 and of the Busoni Composition Award in 1996. He also received the Heinrich Ströbel Scholarship in 1995.

In November 1993 two of his compositions were performed as part of the “Music of the centuries” series in Stuttgart.
