Omar Gregorio Vega Macotela

Born in Mexico City/Mexico in 1989.

Omar Vega Macotela studied at the ENPEG – Escuela Nacional de Pintura »La Esmeralda«, Mexico City. He completed an MA in artistic research in Multiple Media (2010) where he developed his research on relational art by studying activities including beekeeping and hunting as sculptural processes. This research culminated in projects such as Transfactura and we San Marcos. He is currently developing an investigation of the concept of trace and the creation of images.

His projects have been exhibited at Mexico City’s University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC), Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil (MACG) and Photo Museum Cuatro Caminos, among others. His work has been featured in publications including MM4 (2013) and De la formación a lo público (2015).
