Olivier Menanteau

Born 1956 in Salon de Provence/France.

Studies at the Ecole Nationale de la Photographie d’Arles, Diploma 1987.

In his work, Menanteau is especially interested in the multiplicity of human social interaction in modern society. Here, he generally seeks out the subjects in their work environment (i.e. in the office, in the factory, at the airport, in the classroom). Caught on camera, the selected locations reveal special situations, where the personal dimension of the workplace becomes visible next to the anonymous one. Menanteau lives and works in Germany since 2001.

Exhibitions include: „Working together“ (Galerie Art & Essai, Rennes 2002), „L’arrivé“ (Akademie Schloss Solitude 2003), „Ununterbrochen 3“ (Institut Francais, Düsseldorf 2003).
