Born 1982 in Sofia/Bulgaria.

Nikola Mihov is an artist, photographer, and curator based in Sofia. After living in Paris/France for several years, Mihov completed a BA in Visual Arts and Photography at New Bulgarian University, Sofia, in 2011.

His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as festivals, including PhotoSaintGermain, Paris (2023); Manifesta 14, Prishtina/Kosovo (2022); Thessaloniki PhotoBiennale, Thessaloniki/Greece (2018); and Les Rencontres d’Arles, Arles/France (2017).

Mihov has developed a special interest in photobooks and has published four monographs, which are part of the Martin Parr collection at Tate Modern, London/United Kingdom, and the Collection of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris. His books have been nominated for the Kassel Dummy Award (2016), listed among the best books of the year by The British Journal of Photography (2012), and included in exhibitions such as 100 Best Photographic Books in Central and Eastern Europe 2000–2020 at the 31st Month of Photography, Bratislava/Slovakia (2021), and Dear Eastern Europe at Athens Photo Festival, Athens/Greece (2024).

Since 2019, Mihov has worked as a curator at Synthesis Gallery in Sofia. He is also the co-founder of the photobook platform PUK! and was a guest curator of the Sofia Art Book Fair (2017).
