Mitch McEwen, Principal of A. Conglomerate and founder of SUPERFRONT, holds an M.Arch from Columbia University (GSAPP) and A.B. from Harvard in Social Studies. Since 2008, her Brooklyn-based design practice has encompassed architectural curating, exhibition design, performance collaborations and spatial political activism, as well as renovation and building design projects in New York and abroad.
She has been profiled in ARTnews, Architect magazine, and PIN-UP. Mitch McEwen has been nominated for a United States Artist Fellowship in architecture and received the NYSCA 2010 Independent Projects awards for Architecture, Planning and Design. Her work has been published in the Studio Museum Harlem’s OFF/SITE series UP/DOWN, NORTH/SOUTH (2011), New Museum’s New City Reader (2010) and The Studio-X New York Guide to Liberating New Forms of Conversation (2010).
She has taught as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP, Instructor at NJIT College of Architecture and lectured at Bard College, City University of New York, and Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, as well as served on the award jury for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Puerto Rico.
Following her stay at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Mitch McEwen has been chosen for a three-month exchange residency at POGON – Zagreb Center for Independent Culture and Youth in Zagreb, Croatia.
