Born and raised along the German Wine Route in the Palatinate region of Germany.
Miriam Humm has been running an independent design practice since 2018, working in various collaborative constellations within the cultural sector. Her work has been showcased at It’s a Book in Leipzig/Germany, INTL International (2023), and the 29th Biennale Internationale de Design Graphique in Chaumont/France (2021), among other events. In 2018, her work was nominated for the Weltformat Newcomer Award in Luzern/Switzerland.
She graduated in 2023 with an MFA. in Fine Arts at Klasse Digitale Grafik from HFBK Hamburg/Germany, including an Erasmus exchange to the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn/Estonia (2021), where she studied Graphic Design. Previously, she earned her BA in Communication Design from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle/Germany (2013–2018), with a focus on Typography, Editorial, and Information Design. In 2016, she spent a semester at KASK Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Gent/Belgium, majoring in Publishing and Visual Identity.
Recently, Humm returned to her former institutions, HFBK Hamburg and Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, to teach Typography and Experimental Offset Printing.
She is based in Berlin/Germany.
