Marius Münstermann

Marius Münstermann is a freelance journalist who writes and photographs for various magazines and newspapers. Additionally, he films and conceptualizes multimedia web reportages. In his research, he focuses primarily on neo-Nazi structures in Germany and right-wing violence. Internationally, Münstermann is interested in the exploitation of raw material and global trade chains that are often linked to human rights abuses, environmental degradation and social conflicts. For the Amadeu Antonio foundation, he has been documenting racist attacks against asylum seekers throughout Germany since 2015. After his graduation (regional studies Asia/Africa and contemporary history at Humboldt University in Berlin), he completed a one year training course at Zeitenspiegel-Reportageschule in Reutlingen in 2014. Münstermann’s work was honored with the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for economic journalism and the Hansel-Mieth Prize for digital storytelling.

In 2018, Marius Münstermann together with photographer Christian Werner received the Gabriel-Grüner grant of Zeitenspiegel Reportagen in connection with a stay at Akademie Schloss Solitude.
