Maren Antonia Geers

Born 1979 in Olpe/Germany.

Maren Geers studied stage and costume design at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin/Germany. Having been granted the MartStam award in 2007 for her diploma thesis, Maren Geers took part in the group exhibition “Kaltstart” (cold start) at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin in 2008.

She became a master student with Prof. Peter Schubert and worked as a stage and costume designer for the Münchner Kammerspiele in Munich/Germany, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg/Germany, the Theater Freibung/Germany, the Sophiensaele in Berlin, and the Schauspielhaus Bochum/Germany. In 2010/2011, Maren Geers was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude. She participated with her performance “Beerdigungsgymnastik” (funeral gymnastics) in the performance series of the Akademie at the Württembergischer Kunstverein.

Maren Geers lives and works as a free-lance artist and stage designer in Berlin.
