Born 1972 in Santiago/Chile.
He studied architecture at the Universidad Central de Chile (UCC) and at the Berlage Institute (BI), Netherlands, graduating with a masters degree in advanced design and urban planning 2000. He has collaborated with Dafne Berc since 2003.
Luciano Basauri has worked in numerous architecture offices in Croatia, the Netherlands and Chile and has taught as an assistant professor at the faculty of architecture of the UCC in Santiago. Selected projects: “Memory inc.”, graduate thesis from the BI, exhibited at the Nederlaandse Achitektuur Institute and Witte de With, the Netherlands.
Selected projects with Dafne Berc: “Infrastructure over infrastructure” (workshop on tourism and local development on the island of Vis/Croatia, 2002), “Luxurious villa in Lovran” (first prize of an architecture competition in Zagreb, 2002), Landscape intervention on the civic axis of Zagreb (2005), “The recovery of Labin Coalmines” as part of research program on tourism and local development for seven sites along the Croatian coast (2005-2006).
In 2005 Luciano Basauri won the first prize for an art/urban intervention in the public space, Zagreb (organized by the MCA und Zagreb City Council).
