Born in Cologne/Germany in 1997.

Kosmas Phan Ðinh calls himself a hybrid; he is an artist, researcher, and curator. Through a sonic and spatial practice as well as the programming of exchange formats, he seeks out contact zones—where worlds might meet without assimilation. He holds a degree in Industrial Design (2021) from Pforzheim University and has continued (un)learning via alternative and community-organized education since then, completing, among other things, the first Independent Program of the Institute for Postnatural Studies.

In his sonic practice he is interested in the material dimension of sound in the form of vibratory phenomena, as well as the various forms of silence, the barely audible and the overheard. As a 2023 fellow of the Trans-European residency program IF-lab »bodies of water«, his sonic research was focused on amphibious zones. His sound works and installations have been presented internationally, at Display Gallery, Prague/Czech Republic, Matadero, Madrid/Spain, Sensorium Festival, Bratislava/Slovakia and Sanatorium of Sound Sokołowsko/Poland.

His work often unfolds in conversation with neighborhood and collective approaches, informed by post-migrant frameworks, off-space work and in dialogue with Southeast Asian collectives. From 2020 to 2023, he contributed to the South German independent art space LAF e.V. Since 2022, he has been part of an ongoing trans-local exchange with the Rakarsa collective and the artistic communities of Bandung/Indonesia and Pforzheim/Germany, comprising residencies, exhibitions, and public formats in both cities.
