Katharine S. Willis studied architecture at the University of Manchester, Manchester/UK, at the Bartlett School of Architecture, London, and at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Weimar/Germany.
After her studies, she worked in different areas, for example as a co-organizer of the Mediacity Conference 2008 in Weimar and of the Media and Proximity Conference 2010 in Siegen/Germany. Furthermore, she was co-editor of several books, including Mediacity. Situations, Practices and Encounters (2010), Shared Encounters (2010), and Locative Media (2011). Katharine S. Willis received two fellowships: the DAAD doctoral fellowship (2006) and the Blast Theory Residency (in collaboration with Thierry Giles and Mike Marienek) (2011).
