Studied at the Technische Hochschule in Darmstadt. Various practical training courses; post-graduate studies at the Architectural Association School in London.

1969-71 member of the planning staff for the Olympic Games constructions at Behnisch & Partner, Munich.

Since 1973 collaboration with Michael Szyszkowitz in Frankfurt, Munich, Graz and Stuttgart.

Since 1988 professor at the University of Stuttgart. Director of the institute Öffentliche Bauten und Entwerfen.
