Born 1970 in Sonderborg, Denmark.
Skibsted studied film at the ESEC in Paris, philosophy at Copenhagen University and project management at the University of California, Berkeley.
As an entrepreneur he became a member of the Who’s Who Historical Society and has founded and co-founded numerous companies, e.g. AV-ART (association), Biomega (Philosophy Aps), Actics, and Skibsted Ideation.
He also has edited a series of poetry anthologies with support from the Danish Arts Foundation (Kunstfonden) and published his own collection of poems “Kavesom“.
As a creative director he has worked with designers such as Marc Newson, Ross Lovegrove and Karim Rashid and helped position a number of brands. Jens Martin Skibsted created series of award winning bikes for Biomega, which were displayed and exhibited in numerous magazines, in museums and exhibitions worldwide, e.g.MoMA, the Danish Design Centre and Danish Museum for Craft and Design. He is a selected designer for Puma, alongside Philippe Starck, Jil Sander und Alexander McQueen.
Skibsted has won many prizes and his work has been featured in numerous design magazines. The ID magazine selected him for the ID40 list. Today he works as creative director and head designer for Biomega Philosophy Aps and as an industrial designer, creative consultant and concept developer through his company Skibsted Ideation.
