Jasmeen Patheja

Born 1979 in Kolkata/India.

Studies in visual arts at the Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology Bangalore.

Works as a freelance photographer.

Selected exhibitions: »Running Amok« (diverse »Tasveer« galleries in India, 2008), »Blank Noise« (Cornerhouse, Manchester, 2008), »Moments of a Long Pause« (Bronx Museum of Arts, New York, 2008), »Blank Noise 1« (group exhibition, Bangalore, 2003), »2 Feet Apart« (solo exhibition, Bangalore, 2004), »Hot News/Taaza Samachar« (video installation in a group exhibition in New Delhi/India, 2004), »Unclothing Uniforms« (sound- and photo installation in a women only group exhibition, Bangalore, 2005).

In 2002, Jasmeen Patheja had an artist-in-residence fellowship at the Regent College in Leicester/Great Britain, and in 2004 she was a research associate at the Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology Bangalore. In 2005 she worked on her exhibition »Blank Noise 2« as a SARAI/CSDS Independent Fellow.

Jasmeen Patheja is a fellow at the Ashoka network for social innovation (2008).
