Hadja Saran Conde
Born 1991 in Conakry/Guinea.
Hadja Saran Condé is a graphic designer based in Paris. She studied in Rennes, at l’École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne (ÉESAB), Rennes/France where she received her master’s degree (2016) and her bachelor (2014) in communication and graphic design. She further holds a diploma in visual communication (2012) from École Supérieure d’Arts Appliqués de Bourgogne, Nevers/Frankreich.
Mainly focused on printed matter, her graphic design practice involves different printing processes. Hadja Saran Condé explores topics such as culture and identity through a reinterpretation of multiple archives, and the drawing of a typeface (in progress), Kankan, which gathers the N’ko and Latin alphabets.
Her current work analyzes the iconography, symbols and ideas on pre-existing/pre-designed national exchange documents (banknotes, stamps, etc.), which are then linked to current social and political events.
During past years she participated in collective projects and exhibitions, Hunky Dory, ÉESAB & Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes (2016), an off-site residency at Rua do Sol with the association In extenso in Porto/Portugal (2016) and others projects presented in France, Romania and the Czech Republic.
