Franck Christoph Yeznikian

Born 1969 in Besançon/France.

From 1991 to 1993 Franck Christoph Yeznikian studied acousmatic composition (with Denis Dufour and Jean-Marc Duchênne) and aesthetics at the Conservatoire Régional in Lyon/France. Since 1992, he has been receiving private lessons by Klaus Huber for several years. From 1994 to 1997, he studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon and specialised in counterpoint (medieval and renaissance) and music analysis of the 20th century. In 2000 he finished the Zuyd Hogeschool with Robert H. P. Platz in Maastricht/Netherlands with an upper degree.

His projects include: Harnischstriemen (Faltenachse) for cimbalom and ensemble by Luigi Gaggero (conducted by Arturo Tamayo) at the Mozarteum in Salzburg/Austria in 2009; ÆSTVARIVM (III Notes from Salalah) – an homage paid to Cy Twombly – a piece for a large orchestra as commission by the German Radio Philharmonie and the Institut Français d’Allemagne (conducted by Roland Kluttig) in 2012 at the Funkhaus Halberg in Saarbrücken/Germany; Was Weiter Wird Werden (de Vinculis) at the Ars Musica Festival in 2012 , inspired by poems of Giordano Bruno and Lorand Gaspar and conducted by Rachid Safir at the Chapelle des Minimes in Brussels/Belgium.

Amongst others, Franck Christoph Yeznikian received the 1st prize of the conservatoire in Lyon (2002), the award by the Akademie der Künste Berlin/Germany (2003) and the award of the city Salzburg (2009).
