Ellie Abrons studied architecture at the University of California in Los Angeles, CA/USA, graphic design at Parsons School of Design in New York City, NY/USA, and art history at New York University in New York City.
She has worked at the architectural offices of servo and GregLynnFORM in Los Angeles and Office dA in Boston. She has taught at the College of Environmental Design in Berkeley, CA/USA. Selected competitions include: top-ten finalist for FEIDAD in 2007 and shortlist for Environmental Tectonics in 2007.
She has received several awards, among others the AIA Certificate of Merit, the James Petit Memorial Fellowship in Architecture, and the AIA/AAF Scholarship for First Professional Degree Candidates.
Selected exhibitions include: »2×8: Swell«, »Extreme Porosity«, and »Manifold Destiny«. Ellie Abrons will be collaborating with architect Adam Fure and composer Ashley Fure to create an interactive installation on the grounds of Akademie Schloss Solitude. »The work will encourage a visceral experience of raw matter enabled by elaborate structural frameworks and natural material behavior.«
