Born 1974 in São Paulo/Brazil.

Elisa Band studied performing arts at UNICAMP – the University of Campinas, São Paulo (1994–1998). She works as dramaturg, performer, director, researcher, teacher and writer. Since 1999, she has been performing, creating and collaborating in many theater pieces and performances.

Previously, she worked as dramaturge and co-director of Ueinzz Theatre Company (2007–2011). With Ueinzz, she created and directed the performance Finnegans Ueinzz, presented in São Paulo (2009), Helsinki/Finland (2009) and Rio de Janeiro/Brazil (2010). In 2011, she worked on the project Kafkamachine, a collaboration with Ueinzz Theater, São Paulo, Presque Ruins, Paris/France, and Mollecular Organization, Helsinki, which included several workshops at the Performing Arts Forum (2010), and the performance Kafka’s America presented in Lisbon/Portugal, Santos/Brazil, and São Paulo. In 2012, she created and performed Double of Rossmann, which was presented in Brussels/Belgium. In 2014/2015 she coordinated the Performance/Live Art Study & Creation Group, São Paulo, and presented the performance 7 Billions and One. Most recently she directed the performance Compendium of Drawers, Bacteria Bears and Hearts in São Paulo.
Currently, she is working as a resident professor of performance at SP Drama School – Development Center for Stage Arts, São Paulo, and professor of performance studies at MAM, São Paulo Museum of Modern Art since 2011.

In 2015 she received a prize from the Brazilian publishing house Lamparina Luminosa, her book Perecíveis was published in the same year.
