Donald Becker

Born 1960 in Hamburg. He initially studied mathematics at the University of Hamburg; as of 1984 studies of stage design in the class of Achim Freyer (where he was a master student 1990 ? Meisterschüler) at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin.

1989 assistant stage designer a the Burgtheater in Vienna. 1992 he worked in stage and costume design at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and later at other theaters, including Schauspiel Frankfurt, Staatstheater Braunschweig and the Kaaitheater Brussels.

Becker produced the stage design and directed the following: ?Die Gier nach der Sommerfrische? by Carlo Goldoni (Hebbeltheater Berlin, 1990) and together with Gudrun Herrbold ?4 Alte Artistinnen? (Podewil Berlin, Mousonturm Frankfurt, FFT Düsseldorf, 2002).

During his stay at Akademie Schloss Solitude Donald Beceker will work together with Gudrun Herrbold on a theater production for the Hebbeltheater Berlin (to be premiered in February 2005).
