Born 1961 in Hamburg. Studied at the Kunsthøjskole på Holbæk near Copenhagen/Denmark and studied German language and literature, history and psychology at the University of Hamburg. Writer, lecturer and editor.

Grants: scholarship for literature of the city of Hamburg 1988 and 1995; Kärntner Industrie prize within the Ingeborg Bachmann Contest 1990; residency at the Literary Colloquium Berlin 1995; residency at Künstlerhof Schreyahn 1996/97; grant in the Maison des Écrivans Étrangers et des Traducteurs (M.E.E.T.) St. Nazaire, 1999; grant of the Stiftung Kulturfonds, (Ahrenshoop residency) 2000; artist in residence at the Künstlerinnenhof Die Höge 2002.

She has published short stories in anthologies, newspapers and literary journals since 1988. Published books: “Eine Frau und ein Junge. Erzählungen.” 1991; “Rosa Rosa” 1996; “Marguerite Duras. Der Schmerz. Die Liebe” (together with Dagmar Deurig) 1997; “Sommergeräusche” 2002.
