Christoph Knoth

Born 1985 in Wurzen/Germany.

Christoph Knoth is a graphic designer and web developer who lives in Berlin/Germany and works online. He studied graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam/Netherlands and at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, Germany, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 2009. In 2011 he finished his studies in type design with a master’s degree at the ECAL, Lausanne/Switzerland. In 2012 he was a design researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht/Netherlands, with his project Computed Type, which explores the historic and future possibilities of parametric typeface generation.

Since 2011 he works together with the graphic designer Konrad Renner. They regularly teach and give workshops. Amongst others he worked on the websites for Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory Utrecht, Netherlands, Werkleitz – Institution for Media Art Halle, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Germany, the New Zealand and the German Pavillon at the Venice Biennale 2015.

He received the :output award in 2009 and together with Spector Bureau was nominated for the Sächsische Staatspreis für Design in 2014.
