Born 1966 in Munich. Studied art history at the University of Munich 1985-87. Studied visual media art (with diploma) at the Academy of Appled Arts in Vienna 1987-95. Since then has been living in Vienna and Prague.
Grants: P.S.1 Grant International Studio Program, New York 1995-96; P.S.1 Grant Distinguished Artist, New York 1996-98.
Awards: Honorary mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 1991 for the interactive installation “The digital newscaster”; Preis der Stadt Wien 1995 for “Pretty good Privacy”, an interactive computer / video installation; Special award at the “Extension” contest at the Kunsthalle, Hamburg 1997.
1992 founding of the “intermedia project research” HILUS. Various multimedia installations and projects like the internet project “Order a Theft”, beginning in 1994; “x-location”, Kulturhaus Linz 1994; “Trans-Mission from Austria”, Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, Connecticut/USA 1995; “Diarama”, Kunsthalle Exnergasse, Vienna 1995; “Linien & Striche”, Akademie Schloss Solitude 1999.
Member of the project group “Forgetting” which presents a website and organized various events in several countries, including the Kiosk project as part of the Downtown Arts Festival, New York 1997.
