Bojana Cvejić

Born 1975 in Belgrade/Serbia.

Bojana Cvejić  is currently completing her PhD at the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP), Kingston University, London/UK (Choreographing Problems: Expressive Concepts in European Contemporary Dance), and has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in musicology and aesthetics from the Belgrade Faculty of Music, University of the Arts. She is a lecturer at the Utrecht University, Utrecht/Netherlands and at the contemporary dance schools P.A.R.T.S., Brussels and SNDO, Amsterdam/Netherlands.

Cvejić is an author, dramaturg and/or performer in many theater and dance performances since 2000, with among others J. Ritsema (Verwantschappen; TODAYulysses; Pipelines, a construction; knowH2Ow; Cocos, Breeding, Brains, and Beauty), X. Le Roy (Mouvements für Lachenmann; The Rite of Spring; More Mouvements für Lachenmann), E. Salamon (And Then; Tales of the Bodiless), M. Ingvartsen (It’s In The Air; The Artificial Nature Project), C. De Smedt (Untitled [Four Choreographic Portraits]). She directed five experimental opera stagings, most recently Don Giovanni at BITEF, Belgrade in 2008. As a founding member of the TkH (Walking Theory/Teorija koja Hoda, since 2000) editorial collective from Belgrade she has been active in organizing a platform for performance theory and practice on the independent scene in Belgrade and has collaborated on many publications, conferences, workshops and other projects of TkH in the region of former Yugoslavia.

Her most recent work in collaboration with Ana Vujanović and Marta Popivoda is a book, video and film research Performance and the Public at Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Aubervilliers/France. She has published in Performance Research, The Drama Review, Maska, Frakcija, TkH Journal, Etcetera, New Sound, and in many dance and performance anthologies.
