Avi Tchamni

Born 1968 in Israel.

Avi Tchamni’s music has been performed at venues and festivals around the world including Musik der Jahrhunderte in Stuttgart/Germany, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele in Ludwigsburg/Germany, Voix Nouvelle in Royaumont/France, Der Sommer in Stuttgart, Germany, The International Film Festival Rotterdam, The Netherlands, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Germany, Sonic Diasporas in San Diego, CA/USA, Images Festival Toronto, Canada, European Media Art Festival Osnabrück, Germany, and by new ensembles such as SurPlus, Neue Vocalsolisten, Chronophonie and Musica Nova.

His grants and awards include IRCAM’s composition and computer music course; the IRCAM-Acanthes summer courses; the Royaumont Foundation fellowship; Musique Nouvelle Domaine Forget fellowship and a first prize in the William Faricy composition competition.

He has taught at the University of California, Santa Cruz, CA/USA and at Stanford University, CA/USA.
