G. Kühnhardt Alvarez (Kükelhahn) is a transdisciplinary artist, designer and curator. The question – the conversation, is their sculpting material to develop tools to frame dissent, transcultural patterns, critique on representation and non-canonical knowledge. In such encounters, they highlight intimacy, nurturing, cuteness and dreaming to eclipse oppressive social reproduction of the present. Their artistic research finds embodiments in an informal spectrum including photography, picnics, bakeries, room installations, Instagram stories and interviews. Since 2020, Kükelhahn has collaborated with artists and cultural workers on »Ich muss utopische Gedanken haben, immer träumen können,«, which focuses on marginalized artists in Germany and their thoughts on representation in exhibitions. A collaboration with bermuda.funk – Freies Radio Rhein Neckar e.V., »Mannheim Under Construction« was awarded 1st place in the context of the Mannheimer Demokratiepreis 2022. As an individual, they have received grants and fellowships as part of the Baden-Württemberg-Stipendium (2015) and Futuress.org: Against the Grain (2021), and exhibited at CAPTCHA Designfestival 2014, 2015, 2016, Düsseldorf Photoweekend 2019 and Rotterdam Photo 2022. Kükelhahn initiated »dreaming, recalibrating, conversating,«, a relational podcast exploring communion, living and working at Akademie Schloss Solitude, with 18th generation fellows (2023–2024).
