We are thrilled to share the news: former Solitude fellow Susanna Inglada has been awarded the Drawing Now Prize 2025!
During the 18th edition of the Drawing Now Art Fair in Paris (March 27–30, 2025), the artist presented a selection of drawings, ceramics, and two animations forming a diptych. She was represented by Galerie Maurits van de Laar (The Hague). The first animation – »Rumors« – was created during her 2024 residency at Akademie Schloss Solitude.
Susanna Inglada’s artistic practice explores themes of power, authority, corruption, and gender inequality. Drawing from cultural, historical, and political contexts, she creates powerful collage-based drawings and immersive installations. Her works unfold a strong theatrical presence, placing viewers inside complex narratives where roles of oppressor and oppressed begin to blur.
The Drawing Now Prize, awarded by the Drawing Society, has been promoting contemporary drawing practices for the past 14 years. It comes with a total of Euros 15,000: Euros 5,000 in prize money for the artist, Euros 10,000 in production support for a three-month solo exhibition at the Drawing Lab Paris, and the publication of a monographic catalogue.
Congratulations, Susanna!
