Fellow Karolina Halatek’s light artwork »Terminal« on display in Gerlingen
Former fellow Karolina Halatek’s light artwork Terminal is again on display on the Rathausplatz in Gerlingen until the end of November 2018.
With her work the Polish artist invites passers-by to take a moment to enter the tunnel-like space of dazzling, bright white light. Encircled by illumination, the visitors are given a chance to step out of what is known and mundane into a new unexpected dimension of light. Pure structure transforms the perception of time and space and provides an opportunity for the audience to contemplate and focus on their own sense of self.
The installation was already exhibited within the framework of the light art festival »Aufstiege« that took place in the KulturRegion Stuttgart from September 17 to October 9, 2016.
Karolina Halatek was a fellow from August to November 2016 as part of the »New Networks« project, a cooperation of Akademie Schloss Solitude and the Center for Contemporary Art, Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, with financial support by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw.
