Akademie Schloss Solitude is looking for a Director

The following position is open as of the next possible date:

Director of Akademie Schloss Solitude (m/f/d)

The director (m/f/d) enjoys promoting outstanding international artists – and possesses a pronounced interest in the interdisciplinary dialogue between art and science, as well as the aspiration to create the best possible conditions for the fellows’ work.

The position’s main tasks include:

• Artistic direction and managing the Akademie’s business; representing the institution in and out of court.
• Conceptually and strategically developing and conducting the operational management of the Akademie
• Representing and positioning the Akademie and networking on its behalf, also with a focus on the cultural scene of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the state capital Stuttgart
• Actively participating in shaping the discourse on cultural theory and cultural policy
• Managing a core team of sixteen employees

Qualifications and professional requirements:

• Several years of management and leadership experience in a cultural or scientific institution, a funding institution, or in the creative industries in an international and intercultural context; experience with residency programs is an advantage
• International and transdisciplinary networking with expertise in current art-making in various disciplines
• Completed university studies
• Good command of German and very good command of written and spoken English
