Documentary material as the source of literary composition: this describes the character of the works by Berlin/Germany based author Marianne Zückler. Within in her literary Winterreise (»winter journey«) she roams the shady areas of individual and collective horror in order to search for a spring of new awakening. She spent her years of learning at amongst others Theatre du Soleil (Ariane Mnouchkine) and Komische Oper Berlin (Harry Kupfer). After becoming known for her texts for free theater groups, audio dramas and libretti, she will read from her first novel Der Blanke Hans und seine Frauen. In the microcosm of a Hallig in the North Sea, destinies of women are intertwining between dwelling mounds, the horizon and the sea to a many-voiced search for a self-determined life. The way from the old world of the Hallig into the here and now of Solitude seems to be far but is yet so close.
To culinarily shorten this way, products from the Hallig like sausages, pies and cookies can be tasted accompanied by a beer from Flensburg or a good wine.
The evening will be moderated by the intercultural feminist theologian and theater maker Dr. Annette Mehlhorn from Shanghai.
Reading and discussion will be held in German language.
Admission is free.
