The right life in the wrong country, wrong actions on the right stage: Four young people from Stuttgart-Hallschlag show where they come from, what they can do and what’s up, work on themselves and work themselves up, search for fake noises, shoot fake films and create false identities. Composed by Hannes Galette Seidl and shot by video artist and Solitude fellow Daniel Kötter, found on the streets around Hattingerplatz, invented in music and video workshops at the Hallschlag Youth Center and shown in Theaterhaus Stuttgart.

Daniel Kötter (*1975) has worked as a video artist and director since 1997. His multi-channel video productions have been shown at numerous international festivals in various European concert halls, galleries and theaters. A prolific interdisciplinary cooperation connects him with, for example, composers like Helmut Oehring, Thierry Blondeau, Jennifer Walshe, with ensembles like Apartment House London and choreographers and directors like Sasha Waltz, Paul Gazzola and Julian Klein. Kötter is the artistic director of musik:theater berlin’s laboratory and a 2008 Akademie fellow.

In cooperation with the Hallschlag Youth Center.

A Musik der Jahrhunderte project under the auspices of Netzwerk Süd. This is promoted through the Netzwerk New Music, a project supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.

»The Summer in Stuttgart 08. New Music and …« takes place from June 20 to June 24, 2008 and is a cooperation between the Akademie Schloss Solitude, Musik der Jahrhunderte, the Stuttgart National Opera and SWR.

Please note: The second performance announced in the brochure of »The Summer in Stuttgart« at 9 pm has been cancelled. Instead, »Aus den sieben Tagen« by Karlheinz Stockhausen will be performed at Höhenpark Killesberg by ascolta, gelberklang, Neue Vocalsolisten, Ensemble Phorminx und Suono Mobile.
