Under the patronage of the German Comission for UNESCO, the Haus der Poesie in Berlin continues to host the central event for World Poetry Day in Germany in 2020. Authors from different parts of the world read their texts in the original, with German translations. The World Poetry Day encourages publishers to support poetic works, especially those by young poets, helps to intensify cultural exchange between peoples. During the evening, Luise Boege, fellow of the Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2019, describes a hell that exists of gambling machines. The other poets are Ali Abdollahi, Ghayath Almadhoun, Nancy Campbell, and Carles Torner.
An event of the Brandenburger Tor in cooperation with the Haus für Poesie, the Akademie Schloss Solitude, the Artist-in-Residence program DAAD Berlin, and the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia Bamberg. With the kind support of the Institut Ramon Llull.
