Even though the frame stays the same, the Sommerfest is different every year, not only because of possible extreme weather conditions but especially because the program depends on the fellows who live and work at Solitude during that time. Besides Bots, Cyborgs and Avatars, which make the growing presence of virtual worlds at Solitude evident, this year’s Sommerfest includes exhibitions, video installations, performances and readings with dance, music and literature in the physical spaces of the Akademie. Fellows from Germany, France, Hong Kong, Canada, Palestine, Romania, Tschad, Hungary and the USA will participate, perform and open their studios.
Food and drinks are provided by regional suppliers around the Japanes temple in the courtyard of Solitude. At night time Elmar Mellert and Iassen Markov will play music.
Current and former fellows as well as the Solitude team are looking forward to your visit.
