Akademie Schloss Solitude celebrates its 25 year anniversary in Berlin/Germany. On this occasion the newest publication Solitude Atlas will be presented at Literarisches Colloquium Berlin.
In September 2014, the Akademie asked some 200 past and present fellows for a freestyle description of the town in which they are currently living. That is how the letters, essays, poems, short stories and illustrations that make up this Solitude Atlas came about. Each contribution appears in its original language as well as in a German translation. In this sense, this eclectic collection of texts bears witness to the unique cultural diversity that is the hallmark of Akademie Schloss Solitude.
Authors of the Solitude Atlas who are currently living in Berlin will read: Rasha Abbas, Martin Beck, Barbara Bongartz, Vanessa Emde, Franziska Gerstenberg, Jürgen Große, Philipp Kleinmichel, Anne Köhler, Anna Langhoff, Alexej Schipenko, Dirk Schulte, Gerhild Steinbuch, Anja Tuckermann, Anna Maria Volkland, Michael Wildenhain, and Tod Wodicka. Jean-Baptiste Joly will moderate the evening and talk with Phil Baber, designer of Solitude Atlas, and Elisa Calosi, fellow for coordination at Akademie Schloss Solitude, who was responsible for the coordination of the numerous authors, texts, and editors.
Admission is free!
