Reading with Dominic Otiang’a

On Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 8 p.m. Dominic Otiang’a will read from his novel Der Deutsche Traum, which was published by Edition Solitude in early 2015.

Der Deutsche Traum evolved during his residency at Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2013/2014 as a sequel and revision of his novel The Dallain Immigrant.

The novel is dedicated to migrants all over the world. It tells the story of a young college student in an African country. His experiences in Germany, his dream of success and his efforts to not subordinate dignity, reputation, and moral values to the constraints of everyday life are overshadowed by the strict foreigner acts and the social pressure foreigners are exposed to in Germany.
