Paola Balzarro
L´infinito in un boccone
»I don’t take part in any competition, I don’t have to reach any specific goal, I’ve not set a due date, no obligations or models. I have nothing to prove, not even to myself, unless it’s the lust for life. And that I’m, thank God, capable of this.« These are the words of pride and hope that conclude Roman journalist and author Paola Balzarro’s novel L´infinito in un boccone, which tells the story of Francesca, who is 30 years old and very overweight. It’s a dramatic story in a language filled with irony and lightness.
The German translation will be read by Andrej Kritenko.
