How are motherhood and motherly love related? In which forms do they appear among us, how do we practice them and where does the practice come from?

The theatre director and artist Jasmin Schädler investigated motherhood and motherly love over the last six months and is now making her findings accessible to the public through a performative room installation in collaboration with the visual artist, stage & costume designer Johana Gómez.

Motherhood is trapped between ideologies, between good and evil, between nature and culture. It is torn apart by antipodes. Jasmin Schädler’s and Johana Gómez’ work questions the hierarchy of birth-related knowledge and investigates the relationship between empirical, emotional and institutional knowledge. What other ways are there to convey and experience knowledge about birth besides words and text?

The visitors are invited to explore the installation in their own pace.

Performers: Esther Schwartz & Laura Vanessa Galeano Ochoa
