In her video installations the former Solitude fellow Amie Siegel (*1974) works with methods of transmission, appropriation, repetition, and duplication. Based on the history of the medium film the American artist raises questions on the relation of authorship and gender roles, cinematographic and architectonic space. These are the central topics of the presentation at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. As the title »ricochet« implies, Amie Siegel constructs a network of references in which relations are set up and simultaneously broken down.
On the opening night, Friday 29, 2016, at 7 p.m. talks by:
Ulrike Groos, director Kunstmuseum Stuttgart
Jean-Baptiste Joly, director Akademie Schloss Solitude und
Sven Beckstette, curator of the exhibition
