The body is constantly being influenced and fractured by technological interfaces. This project proposes to subject parts of my body in the form of 3D scans to be manipulated (smashed, extruded, change of color) by the online interactions of users.
The webpages will use three.js, meshes, and various inputs including, but not limited to, mouse movement, accelerometer data, IP addresses, and text. All of these scans will be available in a database to download. The initial scans I’ll be using are already imperfect, exposing the limitations of computer vision trying to mimic the body along with the perceptions and flexibility of the body in virtual space. The body in this context will be dispersed throughout the Web while its parts are disconnected from the whole.
